OPENING SPEECH/WELCOME ADDRESS BY DIR. GOGO LUKE SMITH THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT OBOLO UNITY CONGRESS [OUC] NATIONWIDE ON THE OCCASION OF HER FIRST [1ST] GENERAL CONGRESS ON SUNDAY 9TH JULY 2017 @THE FAMOUS GROUND HOTEL NO.15 ADELABU STREET,MILE 2 DIOBU.

 First and formost, I want to apologize for not being present in today’s meeting due to some situation beyond my control, Please do well to accept my apology. Before business, I want to sincerely appreciate the Vice President Comr. Ataijong Amabi. A. and the Secreatary-General of OBOLO UNITY CONGRESS [OUC] NATIONWIDE, Amb. Jonathan Manasseh M for constructing a day like this. in the same vain, I will like to welcome our guests from far and near to our today’s gathering. We are pleased to have you here to contribute for the Unity and Development of OBOLO NATION,in this our first leadership Congress, which holds today the 9th of July, 2017. @ The Famous Ground Hotel,NO.15 Adelabu Street, Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt. I thank you all for coming.

I believe it is for the LOVE and INTEREST of the UNITY of OBOLO ETHNIC NATIONALITY that brought you all here to witness this day. by God’sgrace we will not disappoint OBOLO. This Organization name is: OBOLO UNITY CONGRESS [OUC] and Our motto is UNITY,PEACE AND PROGRESS. Let me quickly brief you on the purpose of today’s gathering as an innovative OBOLO youth Organization, the purpose of today’s meeting is to established concrete leadership qualities, that will conceptualize brilliant ideas that will further unite the youths of OBOLO as it will bring Peace and Developments in OBOLO LAND. In the guest for development it is our responsibility to encourage our people, be it politicians, companies and individual to play a positive role in the development of OBOLO [Andoni] to invest in Andoni and make it a better place. I will like you all to know that OUC will be working with these three [3] key points Agenda……. [1] To unite all Obolo youths with likes-mind mindset of creating positive history where there is none. [2]To create a conducive and peaceful atmosphere/environments in OBOLO[Andoni] LAND through constant advocacy to relevant establishments. [3] To campaign for development and its possible way of achieving such. Our primary assignment is to make these goals possible/work-out for our people as our mission will be fulfilled through strategical/practical steps before 2030. Without taking much of your time, I will urge everyone of us[the youths] to be united and not to be frighten as we will not violate nor abuse the privilege of the 1999 Nigeria Constitution section 40,42 and 39 have provided for us. whiich states as follows: Section 40: The Right for peaceful assembly and association[1999 Constitution] that Every person shall be entitled to assemble freely and associate with other persons or political party. Section 42.The Right for freedom from discrimination[1999 Constitution] No Nigerian shall be discriminated upon on the basis of his Community, Ethnic group, Sex, place of origin and political. And Section 39. The Right to freedom of expression and the press[1999 Constitution] Every person shall be entitled to freedom of expression, including freedom to hold opinions.  

Finally, as part of those longing for development, I want to challenge you all to fall back to your various communities and find out what possibly could be the root cause of insecurity, under-development and the disunity among our people especially the leaders of today. and I promise you all, that we shall collectively tackle it and also plan for strategies to handle any challenges that will come thereinafter. as we have all plans/strategies for our first peaceful protest at Andoni Local Government in our next General Congress, if the situation of Andoni under-development and insecurity persist. Thank you once again, we respect you and appreciate your coming.
