Obolo Unity Congress [OUC]
Nationwide.
Press Release 16/10/2017.
BODO- BONNY ROAD
PROJECT: CORRECT YOUR ABNORMALITY IMMEDIATELY. ANDONIAN’S TELLS FEDERAL
GOVERNMENT UNDER PRESIDENT BUHARI AND NLNG.
Our attention has
been drawn over the trending issue between Andoni, Ogoni and Bonny LGA’s and
the unfair treatment awarded to the good people of Andoni/obolo Nation, by the
state and federal government of Nigeria.
The Caretaker Chairman of Andoni Local
Government Council, Hon. Gogo-ogute Isaiah, has condemned the marginalization
Of Andoni/Obolo ethnic nationality by the Federal Government, in the just
flagged –off, of BODO- BONNY road construction project and he has called on the
Federal Government and relevant authority to immediately rename the project as
BODO-ANDONI-BONNY road Construction Project. The Andoni number one citizen emphasized
that Bodo and Bonny have no common boundaries either by air, seas, Rivers and
land without transient through Andoni. Hon. Isaiah further suggest that the renunciation
of Andoni/Obolo ethnic group her right of possession, amount to undermining and
negligence of her existence as an LGA of Nigeria. The Andoni Council boss however maintain
that the people strongly reject the name and will not allow it to stand without
their inclusion. In regards to this we the Obolo Unity Congress are condemning
the marginalization of Andoni/Obolo ethnic Nationality. The injustice demolished
against our people is much and we are not going to keep quiet and watch things
goes wrong. We are also advising the general public to disregard any statement that
does not justifying the quest for the inclusion of the appellation Andoni to
the just flagged off road project. However we are calling on the federal
government and other relevant bodies to do justice to the just flagged off road
project by renaming it as BODO-ANDONI-BONNY
road construction as well as ensuring that all Andoni Sons and Daughters are
allowed to partake fully in any available Job Opportunity during the
construction.
Finally. We will
like to make this point clear, that our stand on this issues has no political
affiliation to any party. Obolo unity congress is interested and greatly concerned
about the unity and developmental concerns around obolo.
